Prompt 205
Now let it be said that not a single one of their team (“Does it count as a team if it’s just the three of us?” “Um, what about the Superman clone here??” “Four was the same number of the original League, so yeah we’re a team!”) were expecting to stumble across much of anything deeper in the Cadmus Labs.
They’d already discovered- and released- the super secret super-boy clone after all, so that was the big thing discovered and taken care of! Only they had uh, found something else, another tube even deeper with the room practically frozen, while trying to find the way out.
Now normally, opening the big tube would be a bad idea! But they had a bunch of creatures and security and whoever else on their tails, and hey, why not fight fire with fire and escape while everything was distracted?
Only when things start to defrost they- the sidekicks who are not sidekicks thanks- are really alarmed and starting to worry about what the fuck is inside. Because the cryogenic-liquid-whatever tube is way bigger than they thought, and the files that Robin hacked refers to whatever is inside as a quote, potentially world-ending dangerous entity.
And it’s not even fully defrosted before it starts to break free. One clawed hand- and then another, and another and another- grip onto the broken material, green dripping from where tubes were shrugged free. Its hair shifts and weaves in the air as though underwater, opalescent and each strand shimmering a different color.
It’s absolutely massive, humanoid with long tapered ears and a cacophony of differently shaped horns floating above its head. They’re wary, suddenly remembering every single lecture about dangerous unknowns as it shakes the liquid from a body that appears almost scaled, eight arms easily lifting itself so that it may step out.
They’re also suddenly reminded of the danger they’re in from other things when there’s a crash against the door, like one of those gynomorph tank things had slammed against it. It also causes the being’s head to snap up from where they were seemingly watching the liquid pool beneath them, nine eyes opening from their previously half-lidded position.
A deep rumbling noise echoed around the room as it stopped slouching, showing just how tall it was while three tails lashed in what was obviously some sort of agitation. When they speak, it’s not in any language the three of them know, but Superboy’s head snaps from the door towards them, eyes suddenly wide in child-like wonder.
(“Oh! It’s a baby~”)
Why yes, Even more of Tiamat Class Prompts- but Humanoid!

The Bournemouth Belle, and The Last Shunter.
More OCs! SteamNav and Missus are rather new so some info might be subject to change, and they were AU versions of certain characters (3 points if you guess who) buuut they spiralled into new characters. SteamNav is tranquil fury incarnate, trying to take control of his life after so long being something humans have tinkered with and throwing herself into making Incredibly Bad Descisions; and Missus can and will judge your (engine) sins, but she keeps losing at poker and that's why Sodor is so damn haunted. If anyone has any more questions or just want to help me brainstorm send me an ask and I'll answer :]

A critique of the Harkness Test
Judge: Daphne Blake has been charged with HAVING SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH SCOOBY DOO?
Lawyer: My client has done nothing wrong. Unlike most dogs, Scooby Doo passes the Harkness Test.
Judge: The what test?
Lawyer: The Harkness Test. It's a set of guidelines named after Captain Jack Harkness. The criteria is 1) Does it have human intelligence or higher?, 2) Can it talk or otherwise communicate with with language?, 3) Is it of sexual maturity for it's species?. If the answer to all 3 is yes then it's ok to fuck. Therefore it's ok for humans to fuck Scooby Doo.
Prosecutor: Objection! Shouldn't one of the questions be: "Is it humanoid?"
Lawyer: You're missing the point of the test! It's specifically for when it is and when it isn't ok to fuck feral animals. Also Barry Benson passes the test even with your rule.
Prosecutor: That's bestiality your honor! It's illegal to have intercourse with a "thousand year old dragon girl who looks like a three year old human." So how is it any different to have intercourse with a dog who is not physically human at all?

I wonder if this was an intentional allusion? Did Spielberg or Kubrick mean to pay an homage to this obscure but fascinating robot movie from the 1960s?

Wild Caught Ghosts-DCxDP prompt
Three little creatures were found on the Watchtower. No one can explain how they got there but they had made themselves at home as they raced around the ship.
They were vaguely humanoid, except they ran pn all fours like feral children raised by wolves. They had sharp teeth, claws and tails that whiped around as they darted about.
You couldn't catch them because he ran straight through you or whatever was in their path.
They were literally running wild.
"We have to do something," Clark said plainly as one of the monsters swung from his cape like it was a rope swing and clawed holes in it.
It was the oldest of the creatures from his slightly taller stature.
"You're telling me," Barry said remembering earlier that day when he put his snacks on top of the fridge to keep the gremlins from eating it. One of them rather than fly stretched its torso to reach the snacks in the most horrifying display Barry had the misfortune of seeing.
"I like them." Diana hummed holding the female creature as it purred in delight with her long tuffed tail swang back and forth. The last one of the monsters stared up at his sister chirping for attention next like a begging cat on his hind legs.
"We need to figure out where they came from first. Until then we need to figure out how to control them." Bruce said resolutely as the begging imp changed targets and began climbing up his leg demanding attention.

(inspired by Puppetmaster13u's Cryptid AU, please check it out, it's amazing)
(formating inspired by Wonderjanga since i'm extremely new to Tumblr and tought it looked neat)
Inside Fawcett city, creatures of any kind were welcomed and seen as normal. An walking, talking, crocodile? Yeah, that's just Peter. A minotaur sharing a lemonade with an vampire? That's just Jeff and Jasmine.
Captain Marvel, the city's hero, though, seemed human. (or Kryptonian.. but there are records of kryptonite being thrown at him and him being fine if not confused)
Now, imagine if Billy (and thus, Captain Marvel) were cryptids who use magic to make an illusion to fool others into thinking he's more human-like, in an effort to appear less threatening, scary or weird.
His cape? That's his wings. When up in the air, the illusion magic makes them look like they're floating, but they're actually beating to make sure Marvel stays up in the air. When not in use, they fold in his back to appear more like well.. an cape.
When he joins the Justice league, he's oblivious to the gossip mill his teammates created.
Hal: “Dude, i'm telling you, he's not human.”
Barry: “What else could he be, then? Like, it's a given he's at least some type of meta, but what exactly? Kryptonian? An regular human with powers that can rival superman's?”
Diana: (a bit distracted, not paying full attention to the gossip) “My guess would be that he has some connection to the greek gods. He does mention them often. Maybe he's an demi-god himself?”
Hal: (shocked) “You CANNOT just drop that into the conversation and not elaborate.”
//
Oliver: (a bit annoyed) “Batman, could you please tell Robin to keep his pets out of the watchtower? There are feathers everywhere!”
Bruce: “Hmm? I can't see how Robin could have sneaked into the watchtower any kind of bird without me knowing. Could you show me one of the feathers so i could ask him about it?”
(Oliver gets up, a big, white and golden feather in hands, and gives it to Batman)
Bruce: (looking the feather over, thinking how this is too big to have been from one of Damian's chickens or parakeets) “...”
(Marvel, who happened to be passing by, sees the feathers all scattered about, with Batman with one in hand, immediatly gets embarrased about how he forgot the illusion spell breaks when he transforms back into Billy, and thus leaves the feathers behind) “Hey.. sorry, those are mine. I'll clean them up.”
Oliver: “What do you m-”
(Both Oliver and Bruce look over, Oliver obviously very confused)
Oliver: “You own a bird and let it loose on the watchtower?”
Marvel: “Oh, no, no, those are mine. Like.. mine mine.”
(Billy breaks the spell, the illusion going off instantly)
Oliver: "OH! oh, i see what you mean.”
//
Hal: “So, he's an.. bird-like humanoid and uses an spell to look like what we're used to seeing him as?”
Oliver: “From what i saw, yeah, pretty much.”
Barry: “...i owe Cyborg 10 dollars.”
Hal: (sighing) “Same.”

DP x DC Death Train edition
Bruce awoke with a start, eyes sweeping his surroundings to reveal a train. A train filled with three other members of the Justice league. All in civilian clothing.
Clark Kent. Barry Allen. Oliver Queen.
His first action was to attempt to wake the three heroes, all attempts failing miserably. Next order was try to figure out where they were and why.
The sight outside the windows was a deep, dark void. No light or shapes among the darkness. An ominious feeling grew stronger the longer he stared into the empty void.
He then worked to check the cargo holds above him. All of which were stuck shut and closed.
He quickly shifted his focus to the two doors on either side of the train cart. He had absolutely nothing on him that could be helpfully. Still dressed in the Pj pants and a shirt he had gone to bed in.
He moved to the one he thought might lead towards the front of the train. Giving a quick glance towards he's sleep comrades before making his choice.
The second cart was completely empty. The cargo hold was just as seal as the others.
He moved swiftly towards the next cart, softly cracking open the door and peering in.
This one wasn't empty.
Instead there stood a terrified man. Pale skin covered head to toe in tattoos and piercings. An impressive handle bar mustache paired with a bald head and leather jacket.
He wasn't the main focus though. Instead it was the shadow being that stood before him. The dark shape was humanoid, however it seemed to wisp and shift around the ends.
The being itself looked more ominous then terrifiying, but there seemed to be a recognition in the man's eyes.
"Please, please, I'm begging you! I'm sorry, if I had a choice I would never have done the things I did!"
The man's deep voice raised in octaves as the being took a step closer. He took a step back, pressing into the seat behind him.
Bruce barely refrain a flinch as a strange static noise left the being, seeming to echo in the empty air.
"No! No, that wasn't on me. You don't know the full story! Just hear me out, you'll understand, and-"
The man's pleas were cut short as the static sound filled the air again, this time louder. Sounding more hostile.
"No, she was asking for it! Please, look, I know what it looks like but-"
The being seemed to have enough of his pleas, pressing a dark, twisted hand onto the man's shoulder.
Bruce watched with wide eyes and baited breath as the man seemed to melt before his eyes. Screams filled the still area as the man's skin bubbled and dripped.
Starting at his legs and rising up with every second that passed. There was no flame. No reason for his skin to bubble and peel away from him.
In almost a blink an eye, the man was nothing more than a scorched puddle on the ground. Bruce quietly worked to move back into the prior cart, trying to close the small gap he made as quiet as possible.
The shadow being barely moved, but Bruce swore he felt eyes on him. It was looking straight at him. It knew he was there, there was no doubt in his mind.
Throwing caution to the wind, Bruce clicked the door closed and made a fast retreat back where he came.
Glancing over his shoulder to see nothing but the empty space. If that being wanted him dead, there was no doubt in his mind it wouldn't be hard to do.
Not in this state. Not when he had no clue what they were dealing with.
When he flung the door back to his original cart open, he almost ran straight into a sturdy chest.
Clark. He was awake. A quick glance around confirmed that everyone else was as well.
Bruce gave them a quick rundown of what he knew, shifting from Bruce Wayne billionaire to Bruce Wayne Justice League member.
After a brief debate on what to do, the team settled for moving the over way. The further from that thing they could get, the better their chances.
All hope relying on the being not being able to teleport between carts.
They catiously moved their way into the other carts. The others just as empty as the one he was in prior. Every cargo hold sealed shut, not even Superman's strength could pull them open.
Abilities didn't seem to work past the carts walls. Clark could only hear the heart beat of those around him, but nothing further passed the doors. X-ray vision was of no help, either.
It wasn't until their third cart that they ran into someone else. A shocked teenage boy staring back at them from the ground. Wide blue eyes and tossled black hair.
"You aren't supposed to be here." The teen mumbled, taking in the new crowd of four. "How-How did you get here?"

Am Fear Liath Mór, or the Big Grey Man of Ben MacDhui [Scottish cryptid]
The high passes of Ben MacDhui – the second largest mountain in Scotland – are haunted by tales of a mysterious creature that supposedly stalks hikers. Usually it is described as an impossibly tall, grey spectre, thereby earning it the name ‘Am Fear Liath Mór’, meaning ‘the big grey man’.
The story starts in 1891 with professor Norman Collie of the Royal Geographic Society, who happened to be a passionate hiker as well. The professor had just climbed the cairn on the summit of Ben MacDhui when he heard something that vaguely sounded like footsteps. I should mention that this area is notoriously misty, so you can imagine how easy it is for a lone hiker to get anxious when hearing strange noises.
The footsteps continued, but they were oddly spaced: for every ‘step’ the professor heard, he himself took three or four. It was as if this mysterious spectre was taking giant leaps or had huge legs. Eventually the professor was overtaken by panic and fled. Much later, in 1925, he recounted his tale and shared it with the newspapers, who were eager to publish and often exaggerate the story of a supposed monster or cryptid living in the Scottish mountains. At the time, the mystery creature was dubbed ‘the Ben MacDhui Ghost’ in the media.
Afterwards, multiple people came forward with claims about the mountain ghost, some of which were believable (hearing unidentified sounds) and some were more fantastic (Richard Frere and Peter Densham claimed to have had a conversation with an invisible, psychic creature).
Richard Frere would later claim that while he was hiking on the top of the Ben MacDhui, he had an unshakeable feeling that someone else was there with him, and he would hear a strange high-pitched noise that seemed to come from the soil beneath his feet.
Tumblr media
Frere also gave a physical description of a creature he claimed to have seen (but it is difficult to verify whether this is the oldest actual ‘sighting’ of the supposed ghost): a large, brown creature was seen swaggering down the mountainside. It stood about 20 feet (6m) tall, was covered with short brown fur and had a disproportionally large head supported by a thick, muscular neck. It had broad shoulders but walked upright and did not resemble an ape.
Interestingly, only a single sighting happened on a nearby mountain, rather than on the Ben MacDhui itself: in the 1920’s, Tom Crowley, the president of the local Moray Mountaineering Club, claimed to have seen an apparition while descending from Braeriach to the Glen Eanaich. It was a very tall, misty grey figure with a humanoid shape, albeit with long legs that ended in strange talons (described as resembling fingers more than toes) and a head with pointy ears.
Dr. A. M. Kellas, himself a famed mountaineer, also claimed that a giant grey humanoid creature haunted the mountain. Among the many supposed sightings, I am uncertain which one is actually the oldest description of the ‘Grey Man’ as a tall, grey spectre, but it is certainly the most popular one. The grey apparition had cemented itself as a local cryptid and urban legend and many more supposed sightings followed.
Though it is often claimed that the creature is connected to ancient Scottish or Celtic mythology, this is most likely false. Gray Affleck, the author of ‘The Big Grey Man of Ben MacDhui’, attempted to research this link but could not find a single connection with actual Highland mythology.
In 1958, the June edition of ‘Scots Magazine’ told the story of Alexander Tewnion’s 1943 expedition to the mountain. While he was descending the mountain, a giant grey shape suddenly loomed over him. Having none of this bullshit, Mr. Tewnion immediately pulled out his revolver and fired three bullets at the thing. The mysterious apparition seemed not to notice, however, and kept walking towards him, upon which Tewnion fled.

Every person on this earth is full of great possibilities, that can be realized through imagination, effort and preseverance. -Scott Barry Kaufmann. Ψ
(SIMON GLASS BACKSTORY/LORE) The stars glistened in the sky on July 14th, 1990, as Simon Glass was brought to the world, awaiting an eventful life. Growing up, his parents had always mentioned the Foundation. What is the Foundation? He was told he would know if he was older. That question always lingered in his mind. He would know. At the ages of 14, he has stumbled upon the question of his future - To become what? Psychology's always been interesting for him, since he has always read books on psychology and had only good intentions to helping people. Another reason for this psychology career choice was, because, both of his parents were psychologically unwell. It pained him to see them in such torment. All he wanted was to help people from such misery, and to prevent others potentially going too far. A few years later, in college, Simon is working for his psychology PhD. Though, he has had an interest in joining the Army. He had always seen photos of his dad in tactical gear, so he assumed his dad fought in the military. Though, it didn't really look like your average tactical gear. His dad had strange emblems on his uniform in the pictures, what looks like two circles with three arrows. He has joined the Army at age 20. Basic training in the Army wasn't that horrible for him, so he passed with flying colors. He was now an Army soldier, for three years. Then, his dad had invited him for a little talk. ''Simon, good to see you in one piece, hah.'' He chuckled, looking at his son. ''Have you always wondered, what the Foundation was?'' ''Yes, I remember you telling me that I would know if I was older.'' Simon said, looking around, spotting someone in a suit in the distance. ''Great. I'm just gonna tell you this: Don't. Tell. Anyone. Else. About. This. The Foundation deals with supernatural beings, essentially ''containing them. We've been trying to hide these beings from the public eye.'' ''Huh? Is this a joke?'' Simon said, noticing the person with a suit taking a seat on the couch across him, next to his dad. ''No, Simon. Me and my partner want to give you an offer: a field agent in the Foundation. You see, I've worked the same job as this, but I have retired. It's best in your interest that you think about this for a while.'' The dad then looks up from the ground at him. Then, it all went by fast. Simon now had a job at the SCP Foundation, to be a field agent. This was alot more stressful than his job at the Army. He had to be way more careful, because he wasn't dealing with regular things. He also had to be way more vigilant, because whatever him and his buddies were following, it was not human, and it knew where they were. 4 years into this whole field agent job, something happened. While tracking an anomaly down, it unexpectedly attacked Simon, causing him to have an injury in his hand, vision and hearing problems. This was a huge healing journey for Simon, not only physically, but mentally aswell. After this, Simon retired from field work, and pursued his main dream in life: to become a psychologist. Luckily, with his psychology PhD, and a psychologist needed in Site-17, this was his call. He has spent the next 8 years in psychology, eventually getting a huge promotion, as Head of Psychology. Simon Glass was known to be very kind, gentle and empathetic to everyone, including the anomalies. He has access to every humanoid anomaly's file, ranging from Safe to Euclid, to some Keter anomalies. He has helped countless people and anomalies get past their biggest burdens. He wasn't a corrupt psychologist or a Foundation worker, at all, he really just wanted to help people. That was his duty. Most people or anomalies with free roam go to him for comfort, he has always had a soft and fatherly aura. And so he continues his psychology work, continuing to help.
''Even the greatest minds can be shattered by the enigma of the anomalous.'' - Dr. Simon Glass
